Extend winning streak to eight games

The Estevan Apex Bruins wrapped up one of their strongest weekends of the season by salvaging a tie against the first-place Swift Current Hurricanes on Sunday at Spectra Place.

The football season for CFL player Brendon LaBatte has now ended; he is a former Weyburn resident who plays for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Blue Bombers lost 34-23 to the B.C. Lions during the 99th annual Grey Cup.

The Estevan Bruins won a key divisional game on Tuesday, earning a 3-1 victory over the Melville Millionaires on the road.
