The Estevan Apex Bruins are making quite a name for themselves in Prince Albert. The midget AA squad won the prestigious Kelly Dmyterko Memorial Tournament for the second straight year on Sunday in the northern city.

Ashley Skjerdal, the skip of the junior women's team from the Weyburn Curling Club, uses her broom to mark a spot on the rink that Zoe Molder must slide towards, during the first curling session of the year for the Weyburn Junior High.

The Wings played three games this week and were unable to pick up any wins. On November 2, the Wings hosted the Regina Wild and were outscored 5-3. The boys got off to a sluggish start and could not dig themselves out of a hole.

The Estevan Bruins ran a deficit of more than $60,000 last season, it was revealed at the team's annual general meeting on Wednesday.

It's safe to say it was a frustrating weekend for the Estevan Bruins.
