Youth football in Estevan is celebrating a first for its programs.

The Eclipse Downhole Solutions Estevan U18 AAA Bears continue to make preparations for their inaugural season that will begin this fall. The club will host their fall camp from Aug. 21-23 at Affinity Place.

Nearly 1,600 young athletes from every corner of the province will gather in Regina to compete in the Saskatchewan Winter Games in February 2022.

The Southeast U18 AAA Twins opened the 2020 season with a pair of losses Sunday to the Regina White Sox at Lynn Prime Park. The Twins dropped the first game 17-2 and the second 5-2.

The Estevan Brewers U18 AA baseball team opened its season with a pair of lopsided victories Saturday, defeating the Assiniboia Aces 20-1 and 11-1 at Lynn Prime Park.

The Borderline Men’s Fastball League, minus its team from Plentywood, Mont., are playing an abbreviated season in July, with a schedule that includes a short playoff time and championship game on July 30.

The Saskota Baseball League is off and running for the 2020 season playing the first scheduled games on Thursday, July 2. The league will consist of the same nine teams as last year and each team will play a shortened schedule of 10 games.
