The Carlyle Cardinals captured the Saskota Baseball League championship on their home field in Lions Park on Tuesday night, winning the best-of-three league final series in two straight games over the Estevan Wolves.

With just two programs to go until the track champions are crowned for the 2020 season, the standings picture became a little clearer for most classes during the Estevan Motor Speedway’s program Saturday night.

The Southeast U18 AAA Twins (8-10) wrapped up their regular season by splitting games on the weekend. The Twins opened the weekend with a doubleheader against the Regina Athletics at Lynn Prime Park. First was a 10-2 loss to the Athletics.

Junior golfers were plying their skills on Aug. 6 at Golf Kenosee in a tournament organized by golf course manager Brent Lothian. The tournament was well attended, with 31 junior golfers putting their skills to the test.
