Three players from the Estevan Minor Baseball Association competed at the junior nationals competition in Quebec during the weekend.

The Estevan Coyotes were the winners of the Estevan and Weyburn Recreation Adult Soccer League’s women’s division. The Coyotes defeated the Weyburn Sonics 2-1 in the final on Aug. 21 to capture the league title.

The 11 th annual Weyburn Elementary Mini-Marathon will be held on Thursday, September 26 th at Assiniboia Park Elementary School. This event is for all preK-Grade 6 students in Weyburn and area who would like to "run for the fun of it".

The World Sub-Junior/Junior Powerlifting Championships will be held in Regina from August 26-31.Saskatchewan will have six athletes participating in the event with three hailing from Weyburn.

Wednesday, Aug. 21 dawned bright and sunny for the Seniors golf tournament and 22 teams turned out for the event, held at the Carlyle Golf Course. With 11 women ad 33 men competing for top spot, the greens saw a lot of action.

Rumina Edgerton of Weyburn, a goalie for Team Canada’s U17 women’s waterpolo team, returned home with a silver medal along with her team after competing at the Pan American Youth Waterpolo Championships in Trinidad.

Power Dodge Estevan Bruins head coach and general manager Chris Lewgood has high hopes for the upcoming hockey season. The Bruins will host their annual fall training camp from Thursday to Saturday at Affinity Place.
