Atom hockey players in the Estevan Minor Hockey Association experienced a draft Thursday for the first time in their young hockey careers. The draft was used to announce rosters for the atom division for the 2019-20 season.

The Oxbow Huskies will be taking a leave of absence from the Big 6 Hockey League for the 2019-20 season. The announcement was made at the Big 6’s annual organizational meeting on Sunday afternoon.

Estevan’s Cole Fonstad has been traded in a blockbuster deal in the Western Hockey League. Fonstad was shipped from the Prince Albert Raiders to the Everett Silvertips.

The Estevan Lions Club U14 Oilers football team had their best offensive output of the season, but still came up short in a 38-20 loss to the Assiniboia Rockets Tuesday night at the Woodlawn Athletic Field.
