It took a lot of work and some good timing, but the Estevan Motor Speedway was able to get its track championship program in on Saturday night, and crown its season champions in all five classes.

Local rodeo fans were treated to two days of competition this past weekend when the Canadian Cowboys Association (CCA) made its way to the Energy City for the annual Estevan CCA Rodeo.

The Estevan Minor Hockey Association gave local young players a chance to get geared up for the upcoming season by hosting a three-on-three hockey tournament from Friday to Sunday at Affinity Place. Teams consisted of seven skaters and a goalie.

The Weyburn Golf held its annual Club Championship on Sunday with 54 golfers attending. The results were as follows. In the ladies division, gross scores, first place went to Tara Busch with a score of 88.

The Richardson Pioneer Red Wings have traded 03 prospect from the Swift Current area, Noah Hills, to the Batteford North Stars. In exchange they have received 01 Defensemen, Nick Dobson from Calgary Alberta.

Golf Kenosee hosted the Provincial Mixed Golf championship Aug. 24 and 25. The winning team was Ian Larocque and Kathy Ziglo at minus 6. Golf Kenosee’s Carson Harcourt and Alexandra Demko finished 2nd at minus 4.

Lee Carls was among 128 people who joined the third annual Dustin Pratt Memorial Tournament on Saturday at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course. The sun came out after a big storm creating great conditions for some golf with meaning.

A local team competed at the RBC PGA Saskatchewan Scramble provincial tournament that was held at the Elmwood Golf Course in Swift Current on Monday.
