Kylie Gavelin of Mankota and her teammates on the Canadian women’s hockey team competed in the gold-medal final at the 28th Winter Universiade in Almaty, Kazakhstan on February 6. Canada faced Russia in a re-match of last year’s loss.

Alexis Larson said that her experience playing with Team Canada at the 2017 Winter Universiade was unbelievable. Team Canada won silver in the hockey competition, losing to Team Russia in the gold final.
