The Estevan Extreme volleyball club showcased three of their competitive divisions before a gymnasium packed with cheering spectators in their inaugural home tournament at Spruce Ridge Elementary School on the weekend.

Prestige FC has added to its already stacked lineup for the Queen City Coronation with a second title fight that will crown the queen of its featherweight division.

The Wawota Curling Club welcomed young curlers to a bonspiel Saturday, Jan. 23 that attracted six teams, “ages eight to grade eight,” says club president Carla Weatherald. “We've held youth bonspiels before,” says Weatherald.

The Southeast Vipers attended the East Central Elite Volleyball tournament on Saturday, Jan. 23, and Sunday, Jan. 24. The girls took on Muenster in a match that went to three sets, but the Vipers were able to earn the win.

With February approaching, Heart Month is also on the way. In honour of the month dedicated to healthy hearts, the Heart and Stroke Foundation is on the move with a national community-based funding campaign.

Through the innovative “Smartart Artsmart” project, many students in the Weyburn and area have been able to engage in art projects with trained professional artists in their classroom setting.

After a lengthy break over Christmas, the mini-atom and atom Estevan Sharks water polo teams were once again in action at a tournament in Weyburn on Jan. 24. The Sharks submitted four teams in the tournament across 3 divisions of play.

The Estevan Coaler Rollers junior roller derby spring season is set to get underway with registration nights scheduled for the end of this month and beginning of next.
