In his first international competition, Team Canada captain Kruise Reddick led the national men's hockey team to a bronze medal, as Canada defeated the Czech Republic 6-2, Saturday, Feb.

The Southeast Vipers 18U were in Regina on Saturday, Feb. 21, and Sunday, Feb. 22. With a few injuries on the team only 10 were able to attend the competition of the 12 on the team. There were a total of 12 teams at the QCVC tournament.

The Estevan A&S atom AA Bruins were the champions in the A final during the Fargo International Youth Hockey tournament. They competed in the squirt B division from Feb. 20 to 22, winning all six games they played.

The Estevan Apex midget AA Bruins recently picked up seven points in four games and have earned points in seven straight to move up in the standings. Estevan defeated the Swift Current Hurricanes 6-5 on Feb.

The Estevan Power Tech midget AA Panthers outshot the Notre Dame Hounds 11-3 in a two game total points playoff series, to move on to round two. Estevan was in Wilcox on Feb.

In last week’s edition of Weyburn This Week, it was erroneously reported that the Weyburn DC Red Wings took the gold medal at a two day home tournament on February 7 and 8. The weekend actually consisted of two separate one day tournaments.
