The CanElson Drilling Estevan Bruins coaching staff had their hands full evaluating roughly 75 players during their annual spring prospect camp on May 1 to 3. Five teams played four scrimmage games to show off skills for the Bruins' coaching staff.

The Estevan senior Impact lacrosse team dropped their first two games of the season against the Moose Jaw Chiefs on May 2 and 3. They fell 22-2 on May 2, and dropped a 21-5 decision the following day.

Many came out to the first race of the season at the Estevan Motor Speedway which saw some exciting photo finishes to kick off the race season.

Kristen Skjonsby of the Estevan Comprehensive School’s senior girls’ basketball team recently competed in the Basketball Saskatchewan all-star game. In the fall she will be continuing her basketball career at the collegiate level.

Three students from Arcola School have established a new program and recently competed in the Table Tennis Saskatchewan Provincial School Championships on April 17 and 18 in Saskatoon.

A fun-family event held every year in Lampman brings home those who have moved away and draws from across the southeast in attendees. Lampman Sports Weekend is packed with excitement and this year promises to again bring sports and fun together.

As the Weyburn Beavers get closer to the first pitch of the season, the push to get everything ready gets stronger and stronger.

The Weyburn Volleyball Club 14U Black team attended provincials in Warman/Saskatoon on April 17-19 weekend. In round robin play, the girls were able to finish a perfect 4-0, defeating teams from Regina, Swift Current, Moose Jaw and Yorkton.

Thirty-three schools participated in the Provincial NASP (National Archery in Schools Program) tournament held April 24 and 25 in Avonlea.
