It's very rare to see a team struggle early on before entirely taking over a game like the Estevan Bruins did on Saturday.

The Weyburn VC defeated the Queen City Volleyball Club (QCVC) Black Ice 25-21, 12-25, 15-9 in Sunday's 13U Women Gold Medal final in Saskatoon.

Weyburn Airborne Gymnasts will be competing in Gymnastics Saskatchewan's 2014 Western Canadian Gymnastics Championships in Saskatoon from April 24- 26 at Prairieland Park.

The Atom Cougars finished up the season with a busy February. On February 4th they played in Kipling(2). They played hard with goaltender Zane Winter having an outstanding game & stopping everything the entire first period.

The Southern Range Gold Wings took the first game of the second playoff round against the Prince Albert Bears March 11 at Crescent Point Place in a 2-1 overtime win.

The outcome of the series was in doubt right up until Austin Daae scored an empty netter with 14 seconds left, but the Estevan Bruins hung on for a 3-1 victory over the Flin Flon Bombers in Game 5 of their SJHL wildcard series on Thursday night.

It all comes down to this. Six months. Fifty-six regular season games. Four playoff games. It all comes down to 60 minutes (or, knowing this series, maybe more) of hockey tonight.

As if the condensed schedule and 10-hour bus trips weren't enough, the first three games of the SJHL wildcard series between the Estevan Bruins and Flin Flon Bombers went to overtime.

The Estevan Sherritt Coal Bruins have advanced to the second round of the playoffs after taking care of the Moose Jaw Warriors in two straight games.

Several Estevan minor hockey players had big years in 2013-14, with two of them winning the scoring races in their respective leagues.
