As they gear up for a new season, Penta Completions Estevan Minor Football will be without one of its teams this fall. The organization will not be fielding a peewee team, due to low registration.

The Estevan bid to host the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games is in need of one final ingredient to ensure it's a contender for the event: an updated track-and-field facility.

The Woodlawn Classic couldn't have ended in more dramatic fashion. After opening the tournament on Saturday with a two-under par 70, Marcus Friess began the final round with a four shot lead over Brendon Grube.

The Fourth Annual Sink or Swim Hole-in-one Golf Classic has been set for Aug. 17 with all proceeds being given to the Crescent Point Leisure Complex.

Although their group was small, the Estevan Golden Eels achieved big results on Saturday and Sunday at provincials in Melfort. The Eels' contingent of 18 swimmers combined for an overall third-place finish at the meet.
