The Estevan TS&M Tornados went from one end of the scale to the other during a doubleheader against Weyburn on Thursday. The Tornados (5-5) won the first game 12-6 and lost the second 8-0 in Baseball Regina peewee AAA baseball action at Cactus Park.

The renovations continue. This winter we asked first-year Roughrider head coach Corey Chamblin if his football team - if compared to a recently-purchased house - was simply a fixer-upper or if it needed massive renovations.

The annual Crocus Open was held June 16 & 17 with 88 men competing. Marc Henderson was steady firing a 73-72 to win the Crocus Classic in Weyburn over the weekend. Henderson picked up 500 Order of Merit Tour points with his steady play.

Seven members of the Weyburn Silver Seals travelled to Humboldt on June 23 to attend the first swim meet of the season. Bransyn Lyon won a gold medal in the 7-8 boys category, taking first in the 50 free, 25 fly, 25 free and 25 back.

The Weyburn Beavers Baseball Club is gearing up for another summer of baseball camps and would like to extend an invitation to all players who fall between the ages of seven to 11.

Moose Mountain Soccer has recently completed a very successful spring soccer season! This year we offered a seven week soccer program to youth ages 3 - 8 years of age and had 83 kids participate!! Of the 82 children, 34 were registered in the Under 4

After a solid season in the Estevan Minor Baseball League, the Carlyle Bantam boy's team met Oxbow in a hard fought league final on Thursday, June 21. Many were in attendance for the final league game.

For many years of his short life, Perry Folk was a fixture at the Weyburn Golf Course. He was a pretty good golfer, but he was an even better socializer -- widely regarded as the friendliest guy in the clubhouse.

Weyburn teacher, Jacquie Williams, was honored with a service award at the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association's 64th annual meeting in Swift Current from June 20 - 22.

Derrick Pouliot was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins, and was their top pick during the first round of the 2012 NHL Draft. The draft was held in Pittsburgh on Friday evening.
