The end of secondary schooling seems like the end of a long journey to some, but in many ways it’s only the beginning for students graduating from the Weyburn Comprehensive or from the other high schools in the area.

As we enter summer vacation for southeast Saskatchewan schools, there is some uncertainty about the future of schools in the Estevan area and how they might look in a few years.

It is no exaggeration to say that things are happening in Weyburn right now, many of them good things, and it isn’t just because this is one of the busiest times of the entire year.

After a few days of good rain (thanks to everyone who read and followed my last week’s column, we did well), I decided to get out to the weed patch that used to be our garden and try to find some sprouts we planted about a month ago.

I often wonder what goes through some people’s minds when they post on social media. Granted, my social media accounts are limited to Facebook and Twitter, and an Instagram account that I signed up for three years ago and never used.
