I was editing a video project and I wanted to use a clip from a previous project. That project worked rather well, so I wasn’t expecting any problems. Then I got this: “Can't play. “This item was encoded in a format that's not supported.

There are winds of change blowing in the world of politics, not only here in Canada but in other locations around the world, and federal politicians here should take note of this as the federal election will be held in October.

I know, most people say that their home city or town is the best, but my case is different. St. Petersburg is really the best city in the world. It’s full of contrasts and controversies; it’s impossible to live in and impossible to leave.

It seems like mining has been an important part of Saskatchewan as long as there has been a Saskatchewan. It’s been one of the most important employers in the province, a leading contributor to our province’s economy.

The editor: I recently attended Estevan to participate in three events, to talk about something that concerns many people, something that I feel passionately about – anxiety.

When I was a kid, Sunday school stories were accompanied by fannelboard re-enactments. Jesus Christ, the disciples, the Sea of Galilee and all kinds of other things were put in front of us to help our understanding and keep our attention.

I don’t know that I’ll ever forget that day in 1980 when Mount St. Helens erupted. At the time we lived in the southern part of British Columbia, just an hour from the Canadian-US border and not far from the infamous site.

Each year, you’ll typically see a prominent television series come to an end. Oh sure, there are the years when there will be more than one.

Cheers to Estevan residents for not throwing out as much garbage. There was hardly any on the boulevards and parking lots recently.
