It’s amazing to think how far the Angel Tree has come in the past few years when it comes to community support. The Angel Tree has been a valuable part of the Community Hamper Association for many years.

The other day while we were in Regina, the clan was hungry. Seeking sustenance, this chief hunter-gatherer pulled into the parking lot of the east side Burger Baron, one of our preferred restaurants.

Now that Christmas is just days ahead, last-minute gift ideas are becoming a matter of priority.

To the government of Quebec: We hope you enjoy the money that we’re sending to you this year through federal equalization payments. We hope that you will put the money to good use for roads, schools, hospitals and social programs.

Christmas time can be an overload of the senses in many ways, with the music everywhere, food of every kind, the laughter of friends and family sharing good times together, and celebrating the season with work colleagues.

This year’s Christmas controversy has nothing to do with faith, commercialism or crazy drivers in mall parking lots. In fact, you could argue that the source of the controversy has nothing to do with Christmas at all.

Christmas music is one of my favourite parts of the holiday, and the variety of songs and styles are part of what makes this music special.
