Since I formally semi-retired from my writing career, I’ve developed a genuine enjoyment of doing crossword puzzles.

There aren’t many services more essential to a city than its hospital. It’s a vital part of the community. It’s where we go when we’re sick, when we’re injured or when we need specialized treatments.

Cheers to newspaper carriers for both the Mercury and Southeast Lifestyles who ensure the papers are always on time, and neatly placed in the mailbox. Cheers to the Estevan Kinettes Club for hosting another outstanding craft carnival on the weekend.

It was Nov. 10, the day before Remembrance Day, and I turned on the TV to History. On the big screen appeared an episode of Forged in Fire. Surely, this is a mistake, I thought. Maybe it’s just one episode. Nope. It was a marathon.
