There are nearly 10,000 adults living in Estevan. They have a variety of opinions on different issues, yet they’ll agree on one thing: they don’t want higher taxes. They didn’t get their wish once again this year.

We are blessed to live in an area of our town that is rich in neighbourly friendliness.

I did something this week that I haven’t done since I arrived in Estevan nearly 18 years ago. I booked a doctor’s appointment. Admittedly, I’ve lived a pretty charmed existence when it comes to health.

Cheers to the City of Estevan for slowly replacing the bad sidewalks. It’s going to take a long time, but at least the work has started. Cheers to the Estevan Humane Society for adding the agility course test to the dog jog on the weekend.

The latest example of the erratic, rudderless leadership coming from U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration is found in steel.

The editor: Cutbacks to health care are totally unacceptable, as is waiting for eight to nine months for surgery. We have the health care professionals, we have the hospitals and we have the equipment or at least most of it.
