The jewel of the City of Weyburn is its extensive park system, the Tatagwa Parkway, which has been planned for and carefully developed over the years to become a prairie oasis for the benefit of the residents of Weyburn and surrounding area.

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when I heard on the CBC that again, one of the Canadian navy’s infamous second-hand submarines was back in dry dock after only a few days at sea, because of major malfunctions.

Premier Brad Wall made what is becoming his annual fundraising trip to Alberta, this past week, to speak to industry friends at the Petroleum Club. The effort was, no doubt, rewarding for both the industry players and Saskatchewan’s first minister.

The oil industry just can’t catch a break. The Fort McMurray fires have had the biggest impact on oil production in Canada probably in generations.

There are times when our problems seem insurmountable, and no matter how hard we try, we cannot find a way out. When that happens, it is easy to just give up, pout and feel sorry for ourselves.
