Watching reactions on Facebook of people we know in the oilpatch was almost comical on the night of the Oct. 19 federal election. To sum it up, the world was going to end. “2015 election. The year we ruined our lives,” said one.

The challenge was raised in the provincial legislature on Oct. 29.

Just how good are they? Trust me, they’re good. I, like many of you, believe I am a decent judge of talent. I mean those people who are heads and shoulders above the teeming masses who ply certain trades, especially in the sports and musical world.

It’s time for more rambling thoughts, so come along for the brief ride my friends. During recent down time, I got thinking about how in blazes I managed to finish high school.

Wow, I must say this election has shown me a lot about people on Facebook; mostly that they’re insane. Whether they were posting memes making fun of Trudeau or Harper, my newsfeed was literally rife with political rantings and mad ravings.

The Editor: I would like to take this opportunity to thank the more than 230,000 Canadians who contributed to the successful delivery of the 42nd general election.

Much has been said and written about the federal election results, but we felt it was still imperative not to let these results be posted without adding to the commentary.

Again we’re going political here, agree or disagree, these are simply my thoughts and since we live in Canada we all have the freedom to voice them. Now the election’s over, but maybe next time they can touch on actual issues.
