The Saskatchewan Roughriders winning the Grey Cup at Taylor Field will never happen again - I was part of history! Unless you live under a rock, you had to be aware of the Grey Cup hosted by the Riders and the city of Regina last weekend.

Several days ago I went home for a quick lunch and to accompany my hotdog and apple juice meal I turned on the TV and "boom" one of my favourite programs was on.

Something occurred this year in Saskatchewan which most people will know nothing about and yet in terms of food production it holds some definite significance. In April, 16 Saskatchewan vegetable producers formed the Prairie Fresh Food Corporation.

While this year's Grey Cup party and game made us happy and proud, it also brought us a reminder as to just how grounded most of us really are in Saskatchewan.

This year's Grey Cup preparations and celebrations reminds us once again how fortunate we are to be able to call Saskatchewan our home province and to claim the Canadian Football League as ours.

Not just any group of people could pull off a successful bid for a major multi-sport event like the Saskatchewan Games. It takes dedication, careful planning and lots of teamwork.

The stage is set for the greatest Grey Cup ever. You don't even have to be a fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders or Hamilton Tiger-Cats to realize the 101st Grey Cup at Regina's Mosaic Stadium on Sunday is the greatest match-up in league history.
