Events such as the Grain Millers Harvest Showdown in Yorkton always hold a special interest for me.

If I hear this statement one more time, I'm going to scream. The only thing worse than this, is the parent who allows it to be said.

Kids need to be active and with recent changes to certain schools in Canada, I'm not entirely sure if they can be. First an elementary school in Toronto bans all types of balls that aren't foam, followed by a school in B.C.

Did you take a moment to pause and silently reflect on November 11? If you remembered to do that, around 11 a.m., that was even better. If you muttered a little prayer of remembrance under your breath, better yet.

On the day leading up to Remembrance Day I started thinking again, of the young men, and yes, a few women who provided the ultimate sacrifice in the name of democracy, time and time again.

After reading Ms. Running's report of the Water Resource Management Annual Meeting on the front page of the November 1st, 2013 issue of the Observer, I am left with some concerns.
