Pardon me for departing from my usual exploration of Saskatchewan politics, but I would like to write about a couple rural farm boys that left us late last month. They say the land makes us who we are.

Horse power on the farm for most is only a memory, or perhaps something read about in books. So I am always intrigued when I have the opportunity to talk to someone still interested in draft horses.

It's a long, long way from Canada to Qatar and since the two countries have no export/import agreement, it took about ten months to work out the details before twelve Canadian alpacas could fly to Qatar.

I get a little nervous when I see headlines suggesting oil could hit $150 a barrel, if Israel attacks Iran.

The generosity factor is one good reason to hang your hat in Estevan and the nearby rural municipalities and communities.

There is not much left of old Progressive Conservative party in Saskatchewan.

Now I have one more reason not to be part of the Twitter community: I don't want to be, as David Bowie might once have put it, a junkie junkie. Twitter, I have learned, is one of the most addictive things in today's culture.
