WEYBURN –  Residents of Weyburn are invited to roll up their sleeves and take part in the city’s annual Tatagwa Tree Day, a hands-on community event aimed at greening the city while bringing families, friends, and neighbours together.

This year’s planting will take place in the Signal Hill walking trail area, where the site has been prepped with pre-dug holes, soil, tree chippings, flag markers, and clear signs to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

With the help of approximately 50 participants, the goal is to plant 140 trees, including Spruce, Poplar, Buffaloberry, and Manitoba Maple. The event is open to all ages, with hot dogs, goodies, and prize giveaways for the kids.

The date has been rescheduled to Aug. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Signall Hill Walking Trail area. Those interested in joining are encouraged to register online through Xplor.

You are encouraged to bring chairs and water to relax and remain hydrated. Bring along gloves and a hat for protection.
