REGINA – A former education assistant at Vibank Regional School has been sentenced to 28 months in prison after being convicted of committing sex crimes against two teenage boys.

Stacey Duke, 40, appeared in Regina Court of King’s Bench on Tuesday for her sentencing hearing. Following a trial earlier this year, she was found guilty of two counts each of exploiting teenagers for a sexual purpose, child luring, and making explicit material available to a child.

Duke was charged after a police investigation. In mid-October, 2022, Indian Head RCMP started investigating after they had received a report of an inappropriate online communication between an adult female and a male youth.

At the time of the offences, Duke was an education assistant at Vibank Regional School in Prairie Valley School District.  As a result of continued investigation, a second male youth/student victim was identified within Prairie Valley School District.

Duke was ordered to provide her DNA and will be on the National Sex Offender Registry for 20 years.
