Reaching out to different demographics key to college’s plan.

The Weyburn Comp Eagles football team held their windup for the season on Nov. 27, and the team coaches handed out the team awards.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Gold Wings participated in the Two Nations Cup over the past week in Brampton, Ont., and made it to the quarter-finals.

The Weyburn Comp Eagles senior girls hosted their first basketball tournament of the season, while the senior boys opened their season winning a tournament in Yorkton.

The Spirit Singers, a nine-member singing group at Grace United Church, will have the opportunity to perform on the prestigious stage of Carnegie Hall next May.

The Weyburn Comprehensive School’s Senior Theatre Club will present “Usher: A Totally Teen Comedy,”on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, Dec. 5, 6 and 8, at 7 p.m. each night, and then on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.

Weyburn officers responded to a local business reporting a theft in progress, and an adult male was located and arrested for theft.

The Rotary Club of Weyburn hosted the 70th annual Festival of Carols on Sunday, with two performance at Grace United Church, featuring many community groups and choirs, including from schools and churches.

The Festival of Trees fundraiser brought in over $48,000 altogether for the Family Place, wrapping up on Thursday evening with the online auction of trees.
