Nina Elaine Martinson passed away at the age of 83 years and one week on Wednesday, June 4, 2014.

Teens at the Weyburn Junior High and St. Michael School were urged to speak up about mental health issues, and to either seek help if they experience mental illness, or to help someone out who is having a struggle with it.

The Weyburn Comp Eagles had a successful football camp last week, held at Darold Kot Field. There were over 30 players in attendance at each of the practices, with a number of bantam-aged youth participating in the camp.

Ollie Kopec, late of Weyburn, passed away May 28, 2014, at the age of 83 years. Ollie was predeceased by her parents: Michael and Barbara Baranowski; husband Val Kopec; son Cliff Kopec; as well as six brothers and two sisters.

It was a busy weekend for the Canadian Football League, with teams preparing for a new year during pre-season games. Three former Weyburn athletes were on the field for their teams.
