The safety of the Queen Street railway crossing, that connects industrial businesses to Highway 39, is being reviewed by City Council after several accidents have raised concerns by residents.

From a provincial perspective, 2013 was a year of growth with the population reaching 1.1 million, said Weyburn Big Muddy MLA Dustin Duncan. "That's definitely a highlight and it's indicative of the strong growth in our province," he said.

Weyburn is among nine communities across the province to benefit from an investment of $13.6 million to continue targeted policing initiatives.

In Weyburn's Centennial year, Mayor Debra Button says her personal highlight was ringing the bell. "Being able to ring the bell was a personal highlight for me. Special thanks to the Myrglod family for that," said Button.
