A group of senior high girls work their way through some soccer drills designed to improve their ball-handling skills on Wednesday, during a week-long soccer camp put on at Jubilee Park by members of the British Challenger Soccer Camp from England.

The new band room at the Weyburn Comprehensive School is coming together. The Comp was a hub of activity Thursday morning as workers were busy on many projects including the choir room, the gym, multiple hallways and the daycare.

This fall, the Sun Country Kids Club is expanding to more schools. In addition to full programs at Haig School and Souris School, a new before and after school program will open at St. Michael's School.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of August 18 to 24: During the reporting period, police received a large number of erratic driver complaints and issued a number of tickets for using electronic communication devices while driving.

Classes begin next week at schools city-wide, including at the Weyburn Comprehensive School, where construction is still well underway.

The 2013 Wishmaker Walk for Wishes will be held on September 14 at City Centre Mall. Participants from across the country are expected to raise over $1 million in pledges in support of The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.

Warm weather with few little rain interruptions over the past week has helped speed crop development. Harvest operations have begun in many areas of the province.
