It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Fay Patricia Johnston. Fay passed away while on vacation in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on February 13, 2012 at the age of 70 years.

June 17, 1926 - February 17, 2012

Weyburn residents, along with those area residents who use city-treated water, are right to be concerned, even upset, that the city is subject to its second precautionary boil-water advisory in the past couple of weeks.

Elizabeth Jane Thackeray passed away peacefully on February 28, 2012 in Weyburn. Born in Wallsend, Northumberland, England on June 3, 1916, "Betty" immigrated to Canada with her parents and three siblings in May, 1929, settling in Lauder, MB.

1983-2012

Weyburn Red Wing forward Jesse Ross has been named the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's (SJHL) player of the year. Ross, who also earned the SJHL scoring title, lead the league in scoring with 46 goals and 45 assists in 56 games.

Saskatchewan artist and artisans who are not supported solely by the sale of art work are eligible to enter their works in 'Art Reach', the Weyburn and area local art adjudication.
