Weyburn Review

The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club meets Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Wheatland Senior Centre at 7:00 p.m. September 19 had four tables that played.

Students from the Weyburn area were recently awarded post-secondary degrees from the University of Saskatchewan. Fall convocation took place on October 22 at TCU Place.

The NDP's plan for better highways for Saskatchewan includes the twinning of the route between Regina and the U.S. border via Estevan, NDP Leader Dwain Lingenfelter recently announced.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of October 24 to 30: During the reporting period the Weyburn Police Service responded to a total of 119 calls for service. Police responded to numerous commercial and residential alarms.

United Centrifuge Ltd recently donated an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) to the Royal Canadian Legion to be placed in the front lobby of Legion Hall for the safety of the citizens of Weyburn.

The Golden Sheaf Award was presented to Edward Pretty at the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce Farmer Appreciation Night on November 1 at McKenna Hall. Pretty said it was "a great honour" to receive the prestigious award.

The Midget Petro Bakken Wings have completed a very busy week as of October 30 and remain undefeated through four games.
