The Weyburn Rotary Club made a donation on Thursday evening of $5,200 to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank for relief in East Africa. Another donation from Weyburn, from the community worship service during the Wheat Festival on Aug.

For nearly 60 years the Weyburn General Hospital has served the medical needs of Weyburn and the surrounding area. However the current facility is becoming increasingly antiquated as it does not meet several modern standards.

During the past week, August 15-21, the Weyburn Police Service received 146 calls for service including thefts, threats, impaired driving and accidents. Many mail scams have been reported using money orders.

Members of the Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan have voted 87% in favour of the new contract agreement reached last month with health care employers, Health Sciences President Cathy Dickson announced.
