A total of $2,100 in prize money was awarded to winners in the Grades 6-8 and 9-12 categories for the YouthBiz competition.

The Assiniboia Park Elementary School classes performed Christmas concerts on Dec. 20 and 21, twice each day. The French Immersion Kindergarten and Grades 1, 3, 4 and 5 did their concert on Tuesday, and the Kindergarten, French Immersion Grade 1 and 2/3, along with Grades 2 and 6, did their concerts on Wednesday. The Elf Jr. musical was performed each evening after the concerts.

Weyburn lawyer Scott Moffat has received a King's Counsel designation, as one of 14 lawyers in the province so recognized.

The Weyburn Police Service responded to 85 calls for service during the period of Dec. 12-18, resulting in a total of 19 charges.

Weyburn Comp Eagles wrestler Cale Mohan took first place in the male elite 70-73 kg weight class, at the Kelly Dumont Memorial Tournament.
