An old-fashioned threshing bee was held at the Glen and Suzanne Stomp farm at Griffin on Sunday afternoon, including stooks of spring wheat gathered on hay racks, and then put through an antique McCormick threshing machine. This was all to demonstrate how harvesting used to be done on the prairies many years ago.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings held their fall training camp from Friday night to Sunday, and hosted their Highway 39 rival Estevan Bruins for their first exhibition game Sunday night. The Red Wings won the game 5-3 in front of 475 fans at Crescent Point Place.

The Weyburn Comp Eagles football team hosted a controlled scrimmage at Darold Kot Field on Friday, with the Estevan Elecs. Each team's offence had 10 plays to run, then it switched the other side, with coaches able to be on the field as the teams tried different plays.
