The Weyburn Police Service is investigating a fraud after a complainant had been defrauded of a large amount of money through a bogus financial services organization. The investigation is ongoing.

A classic landspout tornado was spotted by a group of four residents northeast of Griffin late Saturday afternoon as a part of a passing thunderstorm. The small tornado lasted for about 10 minutes.

Due to serious technical issues at Weyburn’s water treatment plant, all residents are instructed to restrict water usage to essential household use only. The Water Security Agency has issued a public drinking water advisory.
