The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce will have a busy spring with three major events coming up, including the President’s Luncheon and annual general meeting on Tuesday, March 27.

To the Editor: Further lack of transparency has reared its ugly head with regard to the demotion of the principal of the Weyburn Comprehensive School, Wade Oberg.

City police conducted a traffic stop at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday. As a result of the stop, the male driver was suspected of driving under the influence of marijuana.

A pancake breakfast will be held at the Wheatland Seniors Centre on Sunday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 888 First Avenue NE. The cost is $7 per person, and includes pancakes, sausages, coffee and juice.

A Grade 9 information night will be held at the school on Tuesday evening starting at 7 p.m. to help students and parents with course selection and to answer questions about the transition from Grade 9 to 10.

By Greg Nikkel Weyburn Minor Football has a very solid financial position after a highly successful year that included opening a new football field at the Comp sports field and lights for their first-ever night game.

Music lovers will be treated to a musical journey through the decades as the Weyburn Rotary Club presents the “Legends” show, a concert featuring country, soul and rock-n-roll at the Cugnet Centre on Friday, March 23, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
