A new librarian has taken the helm of the Weyburn Public Library with the goal of maintaining and improving the programs and services offered at the facility.

A two-time national champion in snowboarding and a gold-medal winner with the Canadian National Amputee Hockey Team, Curt Minard, has been chosen to represent his country as a Paralympian in PyeongChang, South Korea, coming up in March.

Telemiracle 42 will be broadcast from Conexus Arts Centre in Regina on Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4, beginning at 9 p.m., with local performers taking the stage along with the national cast to help raise funds for the Kinsmen Foundation.

By Greg Nikkel Weyburn’s city council heard preliminary numbers from a poll taken on-line about speed limits, and has directed the polling to continue, with an effort to be made to reach those who are not on social media or the Internet.

Team Southeast earned a total of 33 medals from the Saskatchewan Winter Games, including 10 golds, with the games wrapping up on Saturday after starting up on Feb. 18 in North Battleford.

Weyburn police received numerous complaints on Sunday of vehicles having been rummaged through and garages having been entered in the central area of the city.
