A private family graveside memorial service for Dale Greiner, who passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer September 2, 2017 in Weyburn General Hospital, was held Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 1:00 p.m.

Russell Blischak, late of Weyburn, SK passed away September 1, 2017 at the age of 80 years.

Renewal stickers for health cards are being mailed to Saskatchewan residents who currently have provincial health coverage. Provincial health cards expire on December 31, 2017.

The City of Weyburn’s development levy, termed as a “burr under the saddle” to some members of council, is undergoing a major revamping by administration, by request of council, some of whom campaigned against it in the civic elections last year.

By Greg Nikkel Weyburn city council is asking administration for major changes to the controversial development levy, claiming that the levy has curtailed or even turned away businesses from the city.

City police received three complaints of vehicles in an east-central location of the city being rummaged through and numerous small items taken on Sunday. In each case the vehicle was unlocked.

The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce is speaking out against proposed changes to taxation of private corporations in Canada. The Federal Department of Finance is considering major changes to how private corporations are taxed in Canada.

A number of dog owners were at the off-leash dog park on Saturday, during a special re-opening event held for the dog park. The Weyburn Kins and Kinette Club now maintains the dog park.
