The Sun Country Health Region board approved a balanced budget plan for 2017-18 that will break even, which has been submitted to the Ministry of Health for their approval. The operating budget was set at $158 million, with expenses of $157.

New name for Children’s Hospital

The Jim Pattison Foundation donated $50 million, the largest-ever gift of money to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. In honour of this donation, the hospital will be named the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.
