The Weyburn Beavers have captured second place in the east division of the Western Major Baseball League. They finished up the regular season with a home game against the Yorkton Cardinals on Sunday evening.

Tickets are now available for the Communithon Concert Jam, which will be hosted by the Weyburn and District United Way at the Cugnet Centre on Saturday, October 21, starting at 1 p.m., as the second day of Communithon.

New ultrasonic metres will help the City of Weyburn regulate their water intake, after a tender proposal was approved by City Council to facilitate a water meter replacement program during their Monday night meeting.

Environment Minister Scott Moe is reminding livestock producers that 90,000 acres of Fish and Wildlife Development fund (FWDF) lands are available to producers for grazing until September 15.

Crops are developing quickly but normally in much of the province, according to Sask. Agriculture’s weekly Crop Report. Livestock producers in the region now have 22 per cent of the hay crop cut and 54 per cent baled or put into silage.

More than 4,000 athletes and coaches from across the country will head to Winnipeg for the 2017 Canada Summer Games. The Canada Summer Games runs from July 28 to August 13.
