Weyburn Review

The City of Weyburn completed the installation of an accessible swing at Elks Park. The swing completes the accessible playground that was started last year.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Anne Sproule of Weyburn. Carol passed away at the Weyburn Special Care Home on July 12, 2017 at the age of 62, after a two year battle with cancer.

Our father, Leslie Arnold Struthers, passed away July 14, 2017 in the care of the Bengough Health Centre, in his 91st year. Les was predeceased by his parents: Hannah and Ransom Struthers; his wife Marge (1994).

1935 - 2017

A number of card games were played at the Wheatland Senior Centre. The results of the Senior Centre’s activities from July 10 to 16 are as follows: Bridge: (Monday) 1st Chris Diemert, 2nd Jean Janoski, Annie Easton.

The skies over Weyburn were brilliantly lit up by a lightning bolt as a thunderstorm went through Weyburn late on Thursday evening, bringing rainfall to some of the region after being extremely dry for the past few weeks.

A mural depicting PGA Tour golfer Graham DeLaet is displayed on the outside of the Weyburn RBC branch, facing Souris Avenue. DeLaet will be competing in the RBC Canadian Open next week.

The RCMP members of the Southeast Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS) will be enforcing seatbelt use as there are still deaths and injuries caused by not properly wearing them.

Noah Verville of Creelman, a cadet with the 2988 Montmartre Legion Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps, is seeking new challenges this summer in British Columbia as he completes the Basic Expedition Course at Vernon Cadet Training Centre in Vernon, B.C.
