ASSINIBOIA — The local small businesses joined forces June 7 to offer a fun day of shopping and experiences.
Little Sunshine Co Baby & Kids hosted Studio 72 Beauty and No Gluten Kneaded for a showcase and promotional sale. All three companies have been operating for some time and decided to get together for fashion, food, beauty and fun. A fair number of customers came out to see, shop, attend bookings and enjoy all that was available.
Little Sunshine Co Baby & Kids is owned by Alyssa Harris and after some time of operating out of her home has branched out to have a store where customers can come and shop for everything for babies, kids and moms too. The operation is located on the upper level of the Prince of Wales Centre, down the west wing. Saturday was sale day. Once a customer found everything they needed from her supplies there was the opportunity to spin the wheel and determine what their sale amount would be.
Studio 72 Beauty's owner used to be from Assiniboia but has relocated to Coronach. This company provides permanent jewelry and offered a one-day promotion to get a second piece of jewelry at half price after purchasing one. They advertised on Facebook the opportunity for appointments at the Little Sunshine Co for one day. Appointments were limited, so interested customers had to book ahead. Several people came to see, and some had booked appointments. They wrapped up the last booking after 1:30 p.m.
No Gluten Kneaded is a company that specializes in all manner of baking items for customers who cannot tolerate gluten. There was a large table set up with a huge selection of wares available all day. The possibilities that can be created without gluten as an ingredient seemed to be almost endless. Assiniboia is home to this company.
