MOOSE JAW — City hall has declared this Saturday, May 10, as “Community Cleanup Day” in Moose Jaw.
The City of Moose Jaw’s community cleanup committee is inviting residents to come together and pitch in to pick up garbage in all areas of the city on May 10 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The cleanup event will begin at 10 a.m. with registration at the Purposed Financial parking lot (81 Athabasca Street West) and the community cleanup committee will supply garbage bags. The event will wrap up with a “thank you” barbecue sponsored by the Moose Jaw Coop from 11:30 a.m. to 1 .pm.
Any resident or group interested in participating can register at the start of the event. If you will be bringing a large group of 10 or more people, please email [email protected] before the event.
“We are encouraging everyone to pitch in and do even just a little clean up in their own neighbourhood”, said Coun. Heather Eby, the chairwoman of the cleanup committee. “If everyone does just a small part, the difference will be huge!”
All Moose Javians are invited to participate and should post pictures using the hashtag #CleanUpMJ.
