The history of Canada’s favourite burger chain goes all the way back to the 50’s when a lively Friday night was spent admiring cars and mingling with friends at the local A&W.
A staple in Canadian brands, A&W was the home to many of the baby boomer generation’s most fond and endearing memories. The company has a home in the heart of thousands of families across the country and continues to uphold its reputation by offering quality fast food at an affordable price.
Recently, the company was named best the “Best Burger” and “Best Fast Food Restaurant” in Estevan.
“We are trying to provide a better burger. We are trying to provide something that the consumers are wanting,” said Michelle Graff, manager at A&W in Estevan.
“The best burger confirms what we are trying to do for our business Canada-wide so it makes us proud that Estevan is recognizing our work and what we are doing as a company is working. We want everyone to come in and enjoy the best burger because that’s what we think we have.”
A&W has made sourcing simple, great-tasting ingredients the highest priority, along with serving Canadian beef raised without the use of hormones or steroids. The company is also the first in Canada to serve chicken raised without the use of antibiotics. All eggs are farmed in Canada, from hens fed a vegetarian diet without animal by-products.
A&W has been operating in Estevan for over 20 years and the goal of all managers, owners and staff remains the same:
“Provide a great atmosphere and great customer service for people who come in,” said Graff. And for anyone who has never been in before, Graff encourages all would-be customers to try the Teen burger, Canada’s hallmark item.
