The out-of-control wildfires are 'relentless,' say firefighters

Crews have been working all night prepping the town and structures for the fire.

CREIGHTON  – The fire has reached the town of Creighton, said the Silton Fire Department on social media Tuesday night.

“The crews have been successful so far in holding the fire back from encroaching further into town. Members are working tirelessly putting out spot fires within the community and holding the line at the roads to prevent the fires from jumping into the town. There have been no reported structure losses at this time.”

Corey, Will and Travis have been sent to help with the Creighton fire. They are all doing well and are happy to be up north supporting the other firefighters and defending Creighton, said Silton Fire Department.

The wildfires are “relentless,” posted the Silton Fire Department. Crews have been working all night prepping the town and structures for the fire. This involves setting up sprinklers and foaming down structures.

They say there are a lot of volunteer fire departments up north, along with members of the SPSA.

More than 9,000 people have been forced to evacuate out-of-control wildfires in Saskatchewan. On June 3, Premier Scott Moe said that number could reach 15,000 in the coming days.
