Benefit for Fort McMurray

Dereck Wolkowski, who operates funeral homes in Canora and Kamsack, organized a fundraising barbecue on May 13 in Kamsack with all the money raised being donated to the Canadian Red Cross for victims of the Fort McMurray wildfires.

Dereck Wolkowski, who operates funeral homes in Canora and Kamsack, organized a fundraising barbecue on May 13 in Kamsack with all the money raised being donated to the Canadian Red Cross for victims of the Fort McMurray wildfires. Wolkowski enlisted the assistance of community members from Kamsack and several businesses donated cash, food items and the barbecues used for the event. The barbecue was held at the garage at Wolkowski Funeral Home in Kamsack, where a serving of a burger, a slice of watermelon and a soft drink was to be had for $5.
