Legions, Foundation Give to Health Centre

Heating system warms up blankets for residents

Patients and long-term care residents at the Outlook & District Health Centre will benefit from more warm sheets and blankets after some financial generosity from local community groups and organizations.

The Outlook and Macrorie branches of the Royal Canadian Legion, together with the Outlook & District Health Foundation covered the $10,000 cost of a blanket heating system that is now in operation at the Health Centre.  The six-foot tall machine has the capacity to warm up as many as 90 blankets and sheets, ensuring that the approximately 58 patients/residents will have plenty of warmth to keep them comfortable.

Pictured in front of the newly-acquired heating system is three of the dedicated staff members and caregivers who'll be using it to distribute sheets and blankets to patients and residents; Allison Gifford and Alice Solnicka (first two from left), as well as Kylie Anholt (far right).  Pictured in the middle are representatives from the Macrorie and Outlook Legion branches, Larry Kendall and Lyall Campbell, as well as Gert Hart, representing the Outlook & District Health Foundation.
