Outdoor enthusiasts celebrated over the June 11 and 12 weekend when River Ridge Fish & Game held its Third Annual Gun Show at the Sylvia Fedoruk Centre.

Vendors and spectators were from not only Canora, but other parts of Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, and Edmonton. A total of 43 vendors came with an array of items to sell, causing steady traffic over the two days.

Kathy and Hal Thomas of Canora organized the event, and Kathy, who is president of the River Ridge Fish & Game, said in a release that vendor feedback was extremely positive. Interested applicants for next year should make plans quickly, as the fourth show, planned for 2017, is already 50 per cent booked.

The money raised from the show is being donated to habitat programs, as well as programs for children’s education.

Kathy said the Canora Lionesses did an outstanding job with the food for the event, and along with them, she would like to thank the volunteers for the show, as well as Canora and the surrounding areas for supporting the event.
