Special events have been happening in provincial parks this winter, giving everyone the opportunity to have some fun that the whole family will enjoy.

Each year nominations for the Garden of Saskatchewan (GOS) Citizen’s Ring Award are received by the award committee. Kamsack resident Wendy Becenko was named as the recipient for 2018. Becenko was nominated by Carol Gillespie of Gimli, Man.

A volunteer-based organization in the Village of Togo, which acts as the recreation board and a community fundraising organization, has taken up the cause for the Togo Centennial Arena.

A sold-out fundraising event, hosted by the Kamsack Recreation Board was held recently at the OCC Hall in Kamsack.

Logan Foster, formerly of Kamsack, is one of three players in the running for the Most Valuable Player in the SJHL. The son of Gwen and Mark Foster of Kamsack, Logan is currently playing in his last year with the SJHL, said Mark.

The Togo Centennial Committee (TCC) sponsored its annual snowmobile derby and, again this year, was not disappointed with the turnout.

This year, a Togo resident felt compelled to raise funds for Telemiracle 44. Edward Irvine decided to participate in Telemiracle 44 Bowling, an event that took place on February 9 in Yorkton at the Yorkton Bowl Arena.

Approximately between midnight and 6 a.m. on February 11, two vehicles were stolen from a residence in Norquay, said a release from the RCMP Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network.
