Again this year the annual Wheelchair Funspiel fundraiser bonspiel was held at the Broda Sportsplex. Starting on January 24, the bonspiel wound up on January 26, with the Jason Pennell foursome of Kamsack taking top spot.

Creative fundraising ideas are the backbone of many Saskatchewan communities, and some people in Norquay recently put the “fun” in fundraising. The Princess and Superhero Fundraiser was held at the Norquay Communiplex on January 25.

An architecture and interior design company which was asked to provide a facility assessment of the Broda Sportsplex, recently presented its findings to Kamsack’s town council.

A local contractor has managed to find a “generous solution” to a problem, which has resulted in putting a smile on the faces of local youngsters and others who have benefitted from his gesture.

The Kamsack Gymnastics Club held its winter season registration on January 22 at Victoria School. The Club’s winter season runs from January to April, meeting at Victoria School on Wednesdays.

The Kamsack Times recently received a query via email in regard to a Canadian School Atlas. Robert Dawson of England purchased the Atlas in Birmingham, England. Upon closer scrutiny, he discovered the name Sylvia Kennedy, Kamsack, Sask.

Kindergarten and prekindergarten classes participated in a Paint Night during a Family Fun Night event held at the Broda Sportsplex.

The 15th annual Malanka celebration to mark the 40th anniversary of the Norquay Rosa Ukrainian Dance Club was a sold out success, according to organizers.

The very successful Saskatchewanderer program marks its 10th anniversary this year. To celebrate, social media followers will be re-introduced to past Saskatchewanderers in what is being called the Month of the Retro Wanderer, said a release.

The annual installation of officers ceremony was held on January 14 at the Kamsack branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. After a banquet supper, the ceremony began with the installation of Robert Boudreau as sergeant-at-arms by Judy Green.
