More than $12,000 was raised for the Horizon Project at the Kamsack nursing home last week during the 10 th annual Old Dog Run.

The downturn in the Alberta oil and gas industry has contributed to another Kamsack resident returning to establish a business in his home community.

Vicky Koreluik was once again the recipient of the grand aggregate award at the Kamsack and District Horticulture Society’s annual show of flowers, fruits and vegetables.

“Kamsack is a tidy community with very hospitable people.” “Kamsack is a lovely community. It is on my list of places I could live.

A Kamsack hockey player has signed with the Spokane Chiefs and is committed to playing in the Western Hockey League. The Chiefs announced on July 21 that Logan Foster of Kamsack, a 1999-born forward, had signed a standard player agreement.

Gardeners from the Norquay area displayed the bounty selected from their gardens and yards at the annual horticultural show held at the Norquay Communiplex on August 10.

A number of Norquay residents got together and started a project to improve the appearance of the town. A grant has been applied for and persons interested in helping are welcome to join.

Fourteen riders took part in the 10 th annual Old Dog Run, biking from Kamsack to Yorkton and back, on Saturday. Upon their return to Kamsack at about 6 p.m.

With 285 persons served at the Arran centennial supper on July 30, the three-day celebration is being considered a successful event. “Everything went really well,” said Michelle Mackenzie, a member of the organizing committee.
